Dear staff colleagues,

As President Crawford shared, Friday, May 23, has been designated as an additional bonus day for staff in an expression of gratitude for all you do to support our campus community.

In the spirit and season of staff recognition and appreciation, I write to share several upcoming events and activities that are designed to honor the contributions of our staff colleagues:

Staff Years of Service and Retirement Reception
Wednesday, May 21
2 to 3:30 p.m.
WSC Rotunda
Enjoy time together at this annual cake and punch reception. Live jazz music and a brief program at 2:20 p.m.

Wednesday, May 21
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Please remember to log and approve time before the long holiday weekend. Stay tuned for a message from Payroll with more information regarding the abbreviated deadlines for time entry and approvals this month.

Following the May 23 bonus day and long weekend, we welcome you back to campus with two events the week of May 26:

Bliss Ice Cream Truck on campus
Wednesday, May 28
1 to 3 p.m.
Jones Circle
Stop by the Bliss truck for a sweet treat and casual conversation. Vegan option included.

Staff Appreciation Mini-Massages
Friday, May 30
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Trimble Forum

Todd Valentine and the team from Elite Massage Professionals are back to offer 15-minute massages using a massage table. Enjoy a break in your day in our oasis of calm at the end of the semester for staff appreciation.

Because meaningful recognition and appreciation is ongoing and frequent, the HR team will continue to offer opportunities broadly throughout the year. And if you are looking for ideas on how to celebrate your colleagues or teams, our HR team is available to brainstorm and help you make a plan to honor them. Please visit the Appreciation and Recognition at Puget Sound website for some ideas to get you started.

Thank you for all you do to create community and connection and for the important role you play in advancing the work we do.

In gratitude,

Nancy Nieraeth, SHRM-SCP | Chief People Officer
