Jacobsen Series 2025-26 performances feature Puget Sound music faculty, renowned guest artists, and inspiring themed concerts. This year's season kicks off with Dawn Padula, mezzo-soprano, joined by Jessica Hall, piano, and the Peter Adams Quartet.

Dawn Padula, mezzo-soprano, is Puget Sound's Professor of Voice and Director of Vocal Studies, Chair of the Vocal Studies Area, directs Opera Theater, and co-directs the newly established Songwriting major. America Pianist Jessica Hall has enjoyed an active career, including roles as a pianist, assistant and offstage conductor, coach, and chorus master on the music staff of more than 65 opera productions with Seattle Opera, Wexford Festival Opera, Minnesota Opera, Portland Opera, Opera Memphis, USC Opera, Opera UCLA, Pacific Opera Project, and Hawaii Performing Arts Festival. Peter Adams is a pianist/composer from Puyallup, Wash., and founder of the fusion band Velocity. Velocity has recorded three full-length albums and perform throughout the Pacific Northwest. Band members include Brian Smith, drums; Rob Hutchinson, bass; and Mason Hargrove, guitar.
About the Series
The Jacobsen Series was established in 1984 in honor of Leonard Jacobsen, former chair and professor of Puget Sound’s piano department. Ticket sales support the Jacobsen Series Scholarship Fund, annual music scholarships awarded to outstanding student performers and scholars.
