The Committee shall consist of the Provost (ex-officio), Registrar (ex-officio), Associate Dean of Experiential Learning (ex-officio), Library Director (ex-officio), Director of International Programs (ex-officio), and no fewer than ten appointed members of the Faculty, as well as two student members. The committee chair may form annual subcommittees as needed.
The duties of the committee shall be:
- To review and enhance the university curriculum, including but not limited to core and other graduation requirements.
- To review and recommend proposals for new or revised degrees, majors, minors, departments, and programs.
- To review proposals for the addition, deletion, or modification of credit and non-credit courses offered through the University.
- To review and make recommendations regarding the curriculum of each department, school, or program at least once every seven years.
- To establish, review, revise, and apply criteria and assessment procedures for international education and study away programs.
- To review and approve new and existing international and study away programs and program proposals, including programs led by University faculty.
- To assist the Office of International Programs in selecting students for study abroad, as needed.
- To facilitate communication between faculty and the Library and Technology Services regarding the university鈥檚 academic program.
- To establish the specific dates for the academic calendar of the University.
- To work with the Office of the Registrar and the Office of Academic Advising to establish course scheduling guidelines, including the scheduling of common periods.
- Such other duties, as may be assigned to it.
