The Committee shall consist of the Provost (ex-officio) and no fewer than three appointed members of the Faculty.
The duties of the committee shall be:
- To promote the professional growth of the Faculty by reviewing applications for research and travel awards, unit-releases, sabbatical awards, and grant-assisted leaves and exchanges, and to make budget and allocation decisions as deemed relevant by the Committee.
- To review applications for, and select recipients of, internal grants to enhance the curriculum of the University, and to make budget and allocation decisions as deemed relevant by the Committee.
- To support faculty by promoting and updating information addressing resources for faculty professional development and advancement.
- To seek nominations and select the Regester lecturer.
- To select the recipient of faculty awards, including but not limited to Curriculum and Pedagogy Grants to Advance Inclusion, Diversity and Equity, Burlington Northern grants, the Dirk Andrew Phibbs Award, the Albertson Professor Award, Miki Japanese Studies Professional Development Award, the Chism and Norton Clapp Awards, Faculty Research awards, Martin Nelson Summer Research awards, and One-unit Release Time, and arrange for announcement to the University community and donors.
- Such other duties as may be assigned to it.
