Who is the SERVE Living-Learning Community For?

This LLC is for anyone interested in gaining hands-on experience working in the community, developing leadership skills, and engaging in fun, group social activities. You do not need to have experience in community service. Also, since being part of SERVE Puget Sound does not incur additional costs or impact your financial aid; it鈥檚 designed to be open to everyone.

Why Join SERVE LLC?

Students in this LLC will be part of a cohort who all live on the same residence hall floor with the support of a dedicated Resident Assistant (RA), take a class together, and participate in planned activities at community-based organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Tacoma Rescue Mission, Metro Parks, Rebuilding Together South Sound, and NW Furniture Bank. Whether you鈥檙e working together to build affordable housing units, prepare and serve food to individuals experiencing homelessness, remove invasive species and restore local habitats, or do home repairs for elderly and disabled members of the community, you鈥檒l build a sense of community around a common goal while becoming introduced to issues facing your new city.

How to Sign Up:
Students can indicate their interest in the SERVE LLC when they fill out the Housing Application under the section on "Special Living Options."
