Mission
The mission of the Office of University Relations Research at Puget Sound is to efficiently increase the university鈥檚 opportunities to raise capital gifts from individual, corporate and foundation donors and to effectively share information internally that can enhance the university鈥檚 profile and opportunities through its external application.
To this end, Research must identify new funding sources (individuals, foundations, and corporations), assign potential funding sources to cultivation managers (development officers), further qualify known funding sources, manage and disseminate information about prominent constituents and funding sources in a timely manner, and track the history of the university鈥檚 major gift donor engagement and outcomes.
The Office of University Relations Research has four distinct goals:
- Prospect Identification and Qualification: Identify new prospects and qualify known capital giving prospects as new information arrives or as new research is requested.
- Information Collection, Analysis, and Delivery: Provide analytical information about prospects moving through the cultivation process as they engage with prospect managers.
- Systems Integrity and Performance: Maintain a close relationship with various systems that directly impact the integrity and functionality of Research and the university鈥檚 fundraising efforts as a whole; provide valuable feedback about those systems as conditions require; collaborate on the development of improved practices.
- Research Competency and Performance: Continue to fine-tune the functions and performance of the Research office.
