The has awarded scholarships to 10 outstanding undergraduate students for the 2025–2026 academic year. These faculty-nominated scholarships recognize academic excellence, financial need, and dedication to a specific field of study.
“Beyond recognizing their hard work and dedication, these scholarships are an investment in the transformative potential of these students to become impactful leaders and thinkers within their respective fields,” said Provost Drew Kerkhoff. “We are excited to see all that they will accomplish.”
Lora Bryning Scholarship
The Lora Bryning Scholarship supports undergraduate students with financial need who demonstrate exceptional talent in writing. The following four students were named Bryning Scholars:
- Cecilia Lowe, ’27, of Silverthorne, Colorado, is a Sociology & Anthropology major and Spanish minor.
- Erin Hurley, ’27, of Pacheco, California, is a German Studies major and Art Studio and Education Studies and Consciousness, Creativity, and Meaning minors.
- Lily Steinmetz, ’26, of Shoreline, Washington, is a Philosophy major and Art Studio minor.
- Wynsome Painter, ’26, of Trout Lake, Washington, is a History major.
Peter K. Wallerich Scholarship
The Peter K. Wallerich Scholarship recognizes students excelling in natural sciences, pre-medicine, or health sciences. The following four recipients were selected based on academic performance, research interest, and career plans:
- Alana Lim, ’27, of Anchorage, Alaska, is a Molecular & Cellular Biology and Spanish Culture & Literature major and Consciousness, Creativity, and Meaning minor.
- Anna Brown, ’26, of Salt Lake City, Utah, is a Science, Technology, Health & Society major and Bioethics minor.
- Ishaan Gollamudi, ’26, of San Jose, California, is a Molecular & Cellular Biology major and Bioethics minor.
- Sophia Haynes, ’27, of Aurora, Colorado, is an Earth & Environmental Science and Environmental Policy & Decision Making major and Music Applied Studies and Consciousness, Creativity, and Meaning minor.
Fred S. Wyatt Scholarship
The Fred S. Wyatt Scholarship supports students who show potential for receiving major fellowships. They are nominated for their understanding of the complexities and ambiguities of societal issues, as well as their outstanding leadership abilities and communication skills. The following two students were recipients of this scholarship:
- Cecilia Turetzky, ’26, of Pleasanton, California, is a Molecular & Cellular Biology and Neuro Bioethics major and Bioethics and Philosophy minor.
- Christy Fuller, ’26, of Tacoma, Washington, is a Psychology major and African-American Studies minor.
