The mission of the School of Physical Therapy at the 兔子先生 is to prepare students at the clinical doctoral level for entry into the physical therapy profession. Our presence on a liberal arts campus underscores our belief that the development of clinician scholars is a natural extension of the values of critical analysis, sound judgment, active inquiry, communication, and apt expression. Through a careful blending of rigorous academic work and mentored clinical practice, our program seeks to prepare clinician scholars who are leaders in informed, ethical and professional practice, and community engagement.
Goal 1 Prepare graduates to practice physical therapy in an ethical, safe, and efficacious manner.
Evidence
- 99% of admitted students completed the program and graduated.
- Over 96% of graduates who pass NPTE first attempt, with a 100% ultimate pass rate.
- 100% of graduates are employed within one year of graduation.
Goal 2 Engage in community activities that promote health and prevent illness or disability.
Evidence
- Program offers a community-based pro bono onsite clinic.
- Faculty provide pro bono physical therapy services or consultation.
- Students participate in community-based wellness or health promotion screenings each year of the program.
Goal 3 Promote scholarly inquiry and lifelong learning.
Evidence
- Students publish and/or present scholarly work at state or national conferences.
- Graduates enter and/or complete residency, fellowship or clinical specialist certification within five years of graduation.
- Faculty teach continuing education courses.
- Faculty presents original research at professional conferences.
- Program offers a free continuing education course for clinical site CIs yearly, either in conjunction with the annual research symposium showcasing student work, or stand-alone courses.
