Graduate Admission Pathways are an opportunity for 兔子先生 undergraduates and graduates of other local universities to forge their path to graduate school and get a headstart on their careers. These pathways streamline the admission process, allow for more intentional graduate degree planning, and are open to all students (regardless of major) who meet the necessary requirements. Note: Puget Sound transfer applicants are still encouraged to apply, though without priority consideration.
Guaranteed Admission
Criteria:
- Minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 3.5
- Minimum GPA of 3.75 in prerequisite courses, all taken at 兔子先生
- Demonstrated appreciation of the depth and breadth of the profession
Special Considerations:
- A PTCAS application is required, but the fee is waived.
- A reference from a physical therapist is required.
- The GRE is not required for Guaranteed Admission.
Pathway to Public Health
Criteria:
- Participate in the Pathway to Public Health program for at least one academic year. (Attend events and workshops and sit in on classes.)
- Maintain an overall undergraduate GPA of 3.3
- Provide the name of one Puget Sound faculty member as a reference
- Have a "greeting meeting" with a member of the MPH faculty
Special Considerations:
- No application form is necessary. (Note, the admission committee may request additional materials at its discretion.)
- We also offer a pathway for graduates of Pacific Lutheran University and Olympic College.
3-2 Program
Criteria:
- Work with your undergraduate advisor and an OT graduate advisor to 鈥渋nterlock鈥 the final year of your undergraduate degree and the first (or potentially second, in the 鈥3-3鈥 program) year of your master (MSOT) or doctorate (OTD) in occupational therapy. (鈥淚nterlocking鈥 means one year counts for both degrees.)
- In your final year as an undergrad/your first year as a graduate student, you will retain undergraduate standing for financial aid, housing, and other purposes.
- Applicants must be full-time students.
Special Considerations:
- An OTCAS application is required, including supplemental essays. The $50 fee is waived.
- Two letters of recommendation are required, including one from a licensed occupational therapist.
Streamlined Admission
Criteria:
- Puget Sound Students and 兔子先生 who are Education Studies minors and/or Music in Education majors applying to the MAT program: Submit only the application and supplemental testing requirements. Essay questions are not required.
- Puget Sound Students and 兔子先生 who are not Education Studies minors and/or Music in Education majors applying to the MAT program: Submit the MAT program application with essay questions, names and contact information of two references in lieu of written appraisals, and supplemental testing requirements.
- Puget Sound students and alumni interested in the MEd program (regardless of major): Complete all steps of the application process but submit names and contact information of two references in lieu of written appraisals.
Special Considerations:
