Join us for music lessons! All community music courses are open to the public. No academic credit is offered for lessons and classes.

The School of Music produces a wide variety of events, more than 100 annually, that feature faculty, students, ensembles, chamber groups, and guest artists. We are also pleased to offer the option to stream many events online, through Schneebeck LIVE!

School of Music Winter 2023 Newsletter

The �� Concerto-Aria Competition has been an honored tradition in the School of Music since 1981. Students participate each year in this competitive program that highlights their work as musical soloists. Instrumental and vocal competitors prepare their chosen solos for a competition audition. Winners are offered the opportunity to perform as soloists with the School of Music’s Symphony Orchestra or Wind Ensemble. Information on past winners and future competitions can be found here. Best wishes and special thanks in advance to all competitors!

Music Minors

The School of Music offers two minors designed to welcome music-loving students with a broad range of interests and backgrounds: the Minor in Music with Applied Studies and the Minor in Musical Inquiry! Anyone interested in learning more is encouraged to contact Prof. Gwynne Brown.
