In 2025, the Staff Senate Advocacy Committee announced a new staff recognition effort called the “Year of Excellence”. In the past, the yearly “Excellence in Action” awards, given out in the spring, have spotlighted staff who go above and beyond towards making Puget Sound excellent. In a similar spirit of recognizing our staff, the committee decided to shift towards a themed approach to honor different attributes our staff bring to the table throughout the year.
Each month in Spring 2025 the committee sent out a theme and solicited nominations from staff to acknowledge their colleagues. Nominated staff received a gift from the committee and took a group photo. At the end of the semester, all nominees were invited for a celebratory lunch.
