As a U.S. student living abroad, your cultural perspective is an asset that we value. We're here to support you as you look to attend university back in the U.S. We can clarify financial aid and scholarship opportunities, as well as help connect you with clubs and faculty to help you feel at home and find community in the midst of the transition.

All documents must be in English and must be sent directly to Puget Sound by the issuing institution or by an official translating service. We cannot accept transcripts or letters of recommendation submitted by the applicant.

  • If First Year:
    • Common Application (with personal essay)
    • Application fee
    • School report
    • Official high school transcript
    • Recommendation from high school counselor
    • Recommendation from at least one teacher
  • If Transfer:
    • Common application (with personal essay)
    • Official high school transcript
      • only for students who have earned less than one year of college credit after graduating from high school
    • Official college transcript from every college attended
    • Academic evaluation (recommendation) from a college instructor
    • College report form
  • FAFSA (optional) – required for first-year and transfer students who wish to apply for need-based financial aid
  • First Years:
    • Merit-based scholarships – up to $45,000 per year
    • Lillis & Matelich Scholarship – (merit- and community-based full-ride scholarships) – covers tuition, meal plan, and housing for four years
    • Talent-based Scholarships (Music, Theatre, Art & Art History, Forensics) – amounts vary and additional deadlines apply
    • Visit Scholarship – $3,000 per year
    • Need-based aid (must file FAFSA) – amount varies depending on the student’s Student Aid Index
  • Transfers:
    • Merit-based scholarships – up to $45,000
    • Transfer Scholarship – up to $4,000
