Learning and development opportunities will be offered in-person, virtual, or hybrid by Technology Services staff members during October. If you would like to attend virtually, please be sure to in order to receive the Zoom link.

Make Your Move to Windows 11

Are you still on Windows 10? This workshop is for you! Come get your questions answered about how to have a smooth upgrade to Windows 11. You鈥檒l learn how to update on a personal or university computer, similarities and differences between Windows 10 and 11, and other useful tips and tricks.

Keeping your device updated is a key component of cybersecurity! Don鈥檛 leave your devices vulnerable after Microsoft ends support for Windows 10 on October 14th, 2025.

Be a Data Hero! Tips on Using Campus Systems

As faculty and staff members, we each have a responsibility to safeguard institutional data. One of the easiest ways to keep data secure is to use university approved systems. Not sure what systems are available? We鈥檒l provide an overview and specific tips on managing access.

Your To-Do List for Getting Rid of a Device

Are you getting rid of an electronic device like an old smartphone or laptop? Add a few easy items on your to-do list before disposing of it so you can have confidence that you are doing it safely, securely, and sustainably.

Report a Phish

To give campus members a hands-on opportunity to practice how to recognize and respond to phishing, Technology Services will be sending a simulated phishing email in October. These emails will be crafted to look like real phishing emails and may contain benign links. 

Remember - real phishing emails may hit your inbox too. Be a cyber hero and report to TS! You may help save somebody else from falling for a scam.

Responsibly Dispose of Old Electronics

Technology Services will be offering an e-cycle opportunity for you to bring any personal or departmental electronics (e.g. laptops, phones, tablets, gaming consoles, printers, monitors) to the Tech Center in the lower level of Collins Memorial Library. Mark your calendar for Thursday, Oct. 23, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
